{My Parties} Honey-DO Bridal Shower for Couples

Just got home from setting up the "honey-do" shower!
Here are all the details...

I had so much fun with this theme because it is not really every day that you go to Lowe's looking for decor and serving pieces, right?  I got inventive with a lot of home improvement products and I hope you like the outcome!  I decided on royal blue and lime green because the bride's main color is royal blue. But, those colors are also slightly on the man-edge as well. I went with a more outdoor/tools feel, so that it felt like things that you would actually have your "honey" do.

First, I made this wreath with an extension cord, some floral wire, some grosgrain ribbon, and a wreath form. It took over an hour to thread that extension cord through about a jillion times, but the outcome was SO worth it!  Plus, the bride and groom can actually use it after the shower.
This is the beverage station. I used half-poms for the walls to give it a little boost of color and handmade the signs out of scrapbook paper and ribbon.
Tablescape....
Astroturf made the cutest "outdoor" look for the table.
I bought cute green and blue shovels and spades at Hobby Lobby, along with these cute terra cotta pots for building up the serving trays.
The favors were small terra cotta pots filled with seedlings of basil, sunflowers, and lilac.
The hostess got mini-cupcakes at Muddy's and I decided to crush up oreos for dirt and line the cupcake stand in grass themed scrapbook paper.
For menu cards, I wanted to do something interesting and fun, so I used the grass-themed scrapbook paper for backgrounds and they were held by empty paint cans filled with colored paper for "paint."
I hung assortments of tools and washers from the chandelier and in person it was very shiny and eye-catching. They kind of fade in pictures.
Thanks so much to my client, Heather, who was so great to work with!
Hope you guys had a BLAST!
