Fairy tales are really the very best themes for baby parties.
They can be interpreted 1000 different ways and turned into the perfect theme.
When party-mommy Kristin told me she thought a Three Little Pigs Party would be cute for her little one's first birthday, I loved that idea!
First of all, pigs are pink, and what is better for a girl party?
Second, there are not that many parties out there with a Three Little Piggies theme! And, I love a good challenge!
I started out this theme with trying to incorporate all the building materials from the story; sticks, straw, and bricks. That, along with some pink gingham was the perfect combination of sweet and girly.
The invitations were designed by the always fabulous Piggy Bank Parties! I mean, who else better to design a Piggy invitation for you than a Piggy?
They were sweet enough to modify their existing Charlotte's Web collection for me, with three piggies instead of one!
And, they had actually already designed the little piggies' houses for another previous party, so that was a no-brainer!
I found PINK GINGHAM deco mesh at +Hobby Lobby and knew I wanted to make a pretty wreath for the front door. I picked up some 79 cent pig cutouts and a chipboard one which I glittered to give the wreath some extra umph.
And I added some pipe cleaner "curly tails" also!
The cake was one of my favorite details from the party. Kristin actually made this cake for Avery. I handmade these cake stands using wooden plaques and candlesticks from Hobby Lobby. Then, I glittered the tops of them with Mod Podge and glitter. They were so soft and pretty.
I added these adorable Pig Pegs from +Jenny Dixon at Craft that Party as cake toppers. Are they not the cutest things you have ever seen? She even put curly tails on the backs!
I am embarrassed of how many pictures I took of the piggie peggies!
For the cupcakes, which Kristin also made, I used these adorable reversible gingham cupcake wrappers from +Birthday Express. One side had a larger gingham and the other side had a smaller one. They simply punch right out of the paper and they are ready to go!
The cupcake toppers are by Cookie Covers. She also did my safari party toppers a few years ago and she is always a delight to work with!
I struggled for weeks to come up with clever food items on this party, but we had to reference the curly tails with pasta salad!
Aren't the printables cute?
And sticks and dip!
And bales of straw! These are a super easy treat! Simply cut up pound cakes, dip them in white candy melts, and cover with toasted coconut!
I added some cute touches of the building materials too--a little haybale with some bricks that I painted pink.
I had to incorporate the little houses too! These chipboard houses are from +Michaels Stores and +Hobby Lobby. I glued each material directly onto the houses. For the brick house, I bought some "brick" siding from the dollhouse section and painted it pink with spray paint.
The pigs are simply wooden disks, painted pink, with felt additions!
The beautiful pink brick backdrop was from My Backdrop Shop. They custom cut this for me. They are awesome to work with and half hundreds of awesome backdrops!
I like how it blends in with the regular brick behind it!
For the favor station, I wanted to do a bunch of different stuff! Birthday Express had a ton of cute pig themed stuff, so I did a pig dress up station! Piggy ears, piggy noses, and piggy tails that I made with pipe cleaners!
I also got these cute pig bean bags at Birthday Express. I tied a cute printable label around their little necks and made a sign, asking to give them new homes!
Piggy Bank Parties really made these printables adorable right? How cute is that font?
I did some pink lanterns just like the pigs on the backdrop. I just added some googly eyes to their felt snouts and ears!
The favor boxes were really the star of the show, though.
Like I said, Piggy Bank Parties had already previously designed them for someone else, but I jumped on it when Do showed them to me!
Inside each was a pig water squirter from +Birthday Express.
After the cake smash, baby A got a dip in the pool!
And, had to throw one in of big sister wearing her piggie ears, just 'cause it's cute!
