{My Parties} Emma's Modern Flower Party

flower party, garden party,

When Emma's mommy contacted me about her birthday party this year, she said that Emma could not stop talking about having a "flower" party. Since this is the 4th birthday party that I have styled for Miss Emma, I felt like I knew that she would like a bright, modern version of a flower party.
No pastels here, she likes bright and colorful!

So, I decided that it would be so pretty to do bright, rich colors up against a bold palette of black and white stripes. I wanted to turn the flower party concept on it's head and make it fun and bold!

The first component of the party were these gorgeous paper flowers. I made all these with scrapbook paper. They are SO easy, and you can see a tutorial here by the brilliant Tania Fischer Designs.
I honestly wanted to make some more to hang in my craft room! They were so fun and happy!

I covered my backdrop in black and white striped fabric from +Hobby Lobby and pinned the flowers right into the foam backdrop.

How gorgeous are these cookies from SemiSweet Confections? They were the perfect compliment to this party, and delicious as well!

I love the contrast of the black and white cookie with the pink 4 and the way that Amanda did the dahlia cookie! SO pretty!

My friends at Birthday Express sent along these perfect black and white striped cupcake wraps. They awesome thing about these is that are reversible and the other side has horizontal stripes!
How delicious do those cupcakes from Mad Lily Cakery look?
The bottom ones are Boston Cream Pie and the top ones are chocolate peanut butter! YUM!

The lovely Linda from Frog Prince Cake and Cookie Design made the fondant toppers for me.
They were the perfect topper for such a sweet, girly, and modern party!

Now, these chocolate covered Oreos might have been my favorite part of the entire party.
LOOK at these! The brilliant Nicole at Bella's Bakery and Boutique made these for us.
I love them so much I want to hang them on my wall! Every single one of the floral ones were different!

I added a really special touch to this party for Miss Emma. I put her face on the plates!!
Birthday Express is offering these awesome new plates (and favor boxes) that you can add your own artwork to! The possibilities are absolutely endless!
I found this super cute picture of Emma when she was a flower girl in a wedding a few months back. So, I had to use it! I just uploaded it to the Birthday Express website and they were able to do a full-bleed paper plate with her face!
Now what is more unique for YOUR party than having your child's face on the partyware?

By some crazy coincidence Target had these floral and black and white striped napkins that I snatched up as soon as I saw them. They were the perfect compliment. I mean, can you say "on-trend"?

I got these cute wooden letters at Joann and then painted them pink and added some black and white ribbon around the perimeters to personalize the table.

For the fireplace, I made this cute banner on my Silhouette and then added some more of the pretty paper flowers.

For favors, I thought it would be really awesome to have guests take home some seed bombs to plant their own real flowers!
So, Plantables and Paper made these seed bombs for me in the shape of flowers! I displayed them in some fake grass and a small box from my collection. The tissue flowers are also from Target.

Happy 4th birthday Emma!!
