I love doing 40th and 50th birthday parties!
When my longtime client, Melissa, called me to do this 50th birthday party for her dear friend, Paula, I loved the theme idea! Melissa said she loved fashion, shoes, purses, and leopard skin! I jokingly asked her if she was throwing a party for my mom, because that description sounds exactly like her!
So, I proposed that we do a glamorous color scheme of black and gold, with some leopard skin accents for fun.
I set up this small dessert display in Melissa's beautiful breakfast room and used her built-in banquette for the backdrop area.
The wonderful Amanda at Semi Sweet Creations made these perfect cookies! She ran with my gold, black, and leopard skin theme! How great are they? I couldn't stop taking pictures of them!
For the backdrop, I covered it in the same gold sheeting that I used recently at the Masquerade party. Then, I got some black and gold beaded Christmas tree decor at Hobby Lobby on clearance and draped them from the backdrop. Then, I used these gorgeous printables from BluGrass Designs to personalize the backdrop.
Mad Lily Cakery made this beautiful cake for Paula. It was perfectly coordinated with the table design.
I displayed the cake on a black scalloped stand and then gave it some extra height with a hat box. For extra details, I added some leopard skin ribbon to the hat box.
I got this adorable fabric for the tabletop at Hobby Lobby. I added some custom glittered letters that I made with my Silhouette and in a stroke of luck, Target had this awesome tissue tassle garland in the exact color scheme!
In Melissa's stunning dining room, we set up the savory food.
Simply Delicious always does an amazing job on their display and this was so exception. They brought such unique serving pieces!
Are you dying over that chandelier and those lucite legs on the table!?
L and Jay Productions did this beautiful display of white hydrangeas and privitt berries.
For the table, BluGrass Designs also did these gorgeous coordinating menu cards. I love how they tie in the dessert table!
Simply Delicious did a gorgeous fruit and cheese display around the centerpiece. I love the gold chevron trays they used!
I brought along some additional black and white striped fabric to dress up the table and Jenn at Simply Delicious really made it look gorgeous!
I love how they displayed these shrimp cocktail shooters in little votive holders! How cute!
Don't you just want to dive into this food? It looks delicious!
And last but not least, the beautiful birthday girl!
Can you believe she is 50? She doesn't look a day over 30 to me!
And she wore that leopard skin scarf without even knowing the party theme!
Happy Birthday Paula!
