Summer is the best time to entertain in your home! It's always so nice to be able to entertain outdoors and be able to really relax outside with your guests.
Today, I'm going to show you how to throw a Mediterranean themed dinner party using Pier 1 Imports products! Pier 1 Imports recently helped me makeover my patio in a bright, Mediterranean Blue color scheme. I was thrilled with the outcome! It's so welcoming out there now! It's going to be the best place to entertain!
A good tip for in-home entertaining is to embrace themes! Themes can be so fun for your guests and they allow you to really play with your décor and your menu!
I love the Mediterranean, it's easily my favorite place in the world, so I decided to focus on a Greek-inspired menu when planning a recent dinner party.
I started with a Mediterranean Blue color palette, and I added some green, to incorporate the beautiful green Trellis melamine dinnerware and the green in the stripes of the chair pillows.
I adore a stemless wine glass and I used these Clarity acrylic glasses. I served Coconut and Blueberry soda. I added frozen blueberries instead of ice. It's a fun detail for guests and after the drink is finished, they can have a yummy treat at the end! My little guys really like this drink too!
For my main buffet area, I set up a Greek-inspired menu of chicken and vegetable kabobs, with Tzatziki sauce, Greek pasta salad, and cupcakes to finish our meal with a sweet note.
These cupcakes were just cute little store-bought cupcakes and I added blueberries for something extra on top!
Don't they look so great served on those green trellis plates?
Pasta salad is my addiction in the summer. I serve it at pretty much every gathering that we host! It's refreshing in the summer to give your guests something chilled that's also filling. And there are a million different ways to customize it to your theme! I used a Greek recipe with lots of Feta and fresh veggies.
And what's more Mediterannean than sunflowers? They are very "Under the Tuscan Sun!"
You can also display the drinks as I did in my place setting, with a cute little paper doily place card and a blue clothespin. That way, the guests know which glass is theirs to take and it can also serve as a place setting!
The blue trellis dinnerware really brings in the Greek theme. They remind me of Santorini!
Doesn't this look so yummy? It was!
After the sun went down, we lit the lanterns for the perfect evening lighting.
We also turned on our seaglass string lights, which always say "party!"
If you are planning on throwing a party this summer, you can't go wrong with all these adorable products from Pier 1 Imports to brighten up your outdoor spaces!
