{My Parties} Army Party

I want YOU at my ARMY party!
I'm so happy to finally be sharing this party!
It debuted on the Birthday Express blog a few months ago, if you missed it.
When I saw this new Army party collection, I loved the idea of there being a patriotic twist on the typical army color palette of just camouflage colors.
So, when I was getting inspired for this party, I wanted to give it a vintage vibe. See, I love the 1940s and I thought that would be the perfect way to bring the two ideas together!

My inspiration point was these awesome poster reproductions from WWII. I picked them up at my local Army surplus store. Then, I ordered the Uncle Sam one from Zazzle and had them customize it to say "I want YOU at my birthday party!"
I used a burlap tablecloth and added this super fun fabric garland from LillyPaul Designs to the front of the table.
On the tops of the posters, I draped this fabric bunting from Sweet Georgia Sweet, to add softness.
I also used the bunting around this big wooden box that I used as a riser, to bring in extra color. I picked up these awesome military patches at the Army Surplus store too. I love what they added to the table design!

I got these star plates at the dollar store and added some cute treats to each, including cupcakes with toppers by Edible Details and cookies from Creating Awesomenessity.

For the cake, I simply used two frozen coconut cakes and stacked them on top of each other for height. Then, I added some icing and some red and blue candies around the sides to dress it up. I topped it all with some paper straws and a sticker from the army party collection.

I love these donut towers by Sparkling Sweets Boutique.
I love the patriotic colors with the paper straws!

For the favors, I used the cute plastic canteens and dressed them up with some army duct tape and more stickers.
I added plastic dog tags and patriotic duct tape the to drinks, which happen to be sports drinks.

I also used these cute favor boxes that are designed to look like First Aid Kits. In them, there were tons of cute stuff for kids like a compass, a flashing red light, dog tags, and even binoculars.

I hope you loved this fun patriotic Army Party! I know your little soldier will love it too!
