Are you all ready for your holiday entertaining?
This is the simply the best time of year for having family and friends in your home!
And with guests comes food!
Today I am going to show you a really easy holiday appetizer recipe using Kaukauna® Cheese that is the perfect for any gathering big or small.
When I was in college, I worked at a catering company. It was really a great education in entertaining and also in food prep and recipes that are great for crowds. This recipe is a classic port wine cheese mold that I learned during my time there. It's a crowd pleaser! And the best part is that is SO easy!
Let's get started!
On your next Kroger trip, swing by the deli and specialty cheese section and pick up some delicious Kaukauna® cheese! Kroger always has a friendly employee that will help you locate it! This sweet lady helped me with my Kaukauna® Cheese selection and also wanted to pose for the picture!
I chose Port Wine Spreadable Cheese Cups for this recipe, but there are a variety of yummy cheese balls and logs too! It's so delicious and now we are going to make it so beautiful!
Here's what you are going to need:
Holiday Port Wine Cheese Mold
Small (6 inch) Spring Form Pan
1 bunch green onions
3 8oz packages of cream cheese
Kaukauna® Port Wine Spreadable Cheese Cup (6.5 oz).
4oz Blue Cheese
1 Jar Hot Pepper Jelly
For your first step, you will line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper, so that the cheese mold doesn't stick to the bottom. Then, spray the entire pan with cooking spray. You can also line it with plastic wrap as another option.
The first step is combining the blue cheese with one 8 oz package of cream cheese.
When that is fully mixed, spread it on the bottom of your pan.
Next, combine your Kaukauna® Port Wine Spreadable Cheese Cup and 8 oz cream cheese.
Spread that layer on top of the blue cheese layer.
Next, combine sliced green onion and 8 oz cream cheese.
And spread that on the top of the port wine cheese layer.
When you have all three layers combined, refrigerate for at least 2 hours to firm up the cheese. Preferably overnight or ready to serve.
Once the cheese is cold and firm and you are ready to serve, pop the spring form pan open and remove the bottom. This is picture is before I removed the bottom.
Right before you are ready to serve, spread the top with hot pepper jelly. You can use red or green pepper jelly. Either one is festive!
Serve it with your choice of crackers or toast. I love mine with a very seeded cracker! Just wait until you taste this deliciousness! Your guests will be begging you for the recipe.
For an easy and perfect cheese display for your next party, add a Kaukauna Cheese® ball, like this yummy Smoky Bacon cheese ball!
