{My Parties} Sweater Weather Cookie Exchange Party

Do you host any fun parties during the holiday season?
I love a cookie exchange party, don't you? What's better than going to a party and coming home with a bunch of delicious cookies? NOTHING!
I recently designed this Sweater Weather Cookie Exchange for Shindigz.com using their adorable party supplies and I'm going to show you how to make your cookie exchange extra cute!

This year I am loving all things plaid for the holidays. It's such a warm and inviting touch for your guests.  It just makes you feel cozy. I designed my party around these fun, over-sized stackable NOEL blocks.

I started my table design with white floral sheeting, which is one of my favorite party items. It's so versatile. I duct-taped it around the skirt of my table and then topped it with this beautiful tartan plaid tablecloth. It gives the bottom of the table a really "snowy" feel.

Behind the table, I hung this Sweater Weather, Fair Isle inspired banner.

I love symmetry on my dessert tables, and I had to have these beautiful plaid deer. They are so pretty. They set off the table perfectly. The antlers are glittered and they have pine cones for tails! So cute!

They were the perfect way to display the personalized coffee cups that I sent home with my guests.
You can literally write whatever you want on them. You could put your name, your friend group, or your kids' school! I added a cute little gingerbread man on mine too!
What goes better with cookies than hot chocolate? And providing these cups will keep your hot chocolate HOT!

And I also sent home the guests with hot chocolate mix, so they could make it at home with their cookies!

Ok, let's talk cookies! I used my simple red and white cake stands to display my cookies.
Make sure that you guests bring a variety of fun cookies or treats. At my party, we had chocolate and peppermint covered oreos, 7 layer bars, gingerbread men, Christmas tree cakes, and red velvet cake balls.

I added some glittery fake snow around the tabletop, and added some Christmas picks to give it an extra holiday feel.

I LOVE these winter wooden trees. They come in these sets and they were the perfect addition to my table!

To bring in the rustic element, I added some simple basswood slices underneath my larger cake plates.

And the guests need something to take home the cookies and goodies right?
These personalized cookie tins are so great! I put our last name on ours. The best part is that the printing is directly on the tin, it's not a sticker! So you can use them over and over!

I added a little piece of fabric into my tins, to line them. I got this pretty plaid at WalMart in the remnants section. I love the mixing of the plaid. It gives such texture to your party. Don't be afraid to mix and match!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and yours!
