Are you ready for Easter?

Easter is one of my favorite holidays. I love decorating for it and I especially love when the weather warms up and the flowers come back for the spring!  It’s always such a fun holiday to spend with your family; dressing up, going to church, hunting eggs, and of course eating!  This year, I am going to show you how to create your own Easter brunch or lunch using some adorable products from Shindigz!  And even better, I am going to show you how to wow your friends and family with a DIY Easter Bunny cake that’s so easy even your kids can make it!

When I think of Easter, my mind always goes to Easter grass and plastic eggs. Those are inexpensive items that you can use in your tablescape and elevate them into something chic! To bring in the “grass” feel, layer your table with this “real” grass mat. It comes in a large piece, but I cut mine into two long pieces to use as a runner for my table and also my buffet.

Your chargers come second. These round wood grain chargers are the perfect textural contrast to the grass runner. After that, layer your place settings with Printed Easter Paper doilies to give more visual interest. On top of the doily, add a dinner and dessert plate from the Cotton Tail party design collection. I love all the pastels in these plates. They are really perfect for an Easter party. Add a little bit of lilac plastic flatware and you’re all set!  The pink chair ties on the backs of each chair really dress up your normal dinner table.

To create easy and inexpensive centerpieces, grab some simple glass vases and fill them up with plastic Easter eggs.  Then just pick some branches up at any craft store or even in your yard! Forsythia is the perfect Easter centerpieces because it’s always blooming early in the spring. I have three of them blooming in my backyard right now! And they are free!

I’m even sharing a video today on how to make your very own DIY Easter Bunny Cake! Trust me when I say that it’s SO easy and you are going to be amazed at how it takes only a few minutes to create.

To create an area to showcase your cake, use the remaining strip of “real” grass mat and cover your buffet surface with it. Then, use a safety pin to attach this Glitter Happy Easter banner to the mat on either side. Display the cake right on top of the buffet and add some fun little roses around the bottom to pick up on the roses on the tops of her crown.

On either side of the cake, add some Easter Egg lanterns. These lanterns were originally very bold, saturated colors, but that didn’t go with my pastel theme, so I painted them! Just hit them with a quick coat of spray paint, or use a foam brush to paint them with craft paint!

  Have a wonderful Easter!
