Hannah and Michael's Purple and Metallic Spring Wedding

I'm so excited to share this beautiful event with you!

Honestly, if I could do my personal wedding over, I would do it just like this one!
Miss Hannah, my bride, is a dear friend. She's like family actually since her sister and my sister are best friends.

When Hannah started planning her dream wedding a couple of years ago, she already knew that she wanted tones of purple and metallics. I could not have been more excited about this palette, because purple is my FAVORITE color. I knew that we could make this wedding just stunning, and we did!
Today, I am going to show you we used the same color palette at her rehearsal and her wedding, but we varied it up for her, to really differentiate them into two different events.

Her rehearsal dinner was held at the beautiful River Hall, which is right on the banks of the Mississippi. We set up our cocktail hour under a tent with market lighting, in case the crazy Memphis in May weather came calling! We used their existing wrought iron furniture, but dressed it up with beautiful eggplant and silver linens from White Door Events. I used eggplant on the bistro tables, and then silver on the lower tables. Then, Deedra Stone Designs added some lovely floral centerpieces for us.

Look at these two! Barbie and Ken!

When cocktail hour concluded, guests were invited into River Hall for a Southern buffet dinner. They were welcomed with these stunning floral wreaths on each door.

Each guest had an escort card to show them to their tables. The escort cards and table numbers were designed by xoBSpoke on Etsy.

For the dinner, we went super saturated with more of these eggplant table linens.
Silver chiavari chairs finished the look.

What is more Memphis than eating dinner right on the Mississippi River?

I combined round 48" tables with square 60" inch tables to give the room more texture and interest.

The guests were treated to a lovely night of dinner and toasting Hannah and Mike.

The wedding ceremony took place in downtown Memphis, so the photographer, Jon Sharman took advantage of the Shelby County Courthouse steps for some really stunning portraits!

Hannah chose to have her bridesmaids in varying dress colors and styles. They ranged from lilac to lavender and gold to silver. And they all looked gorgeous! The bouquets from Deedra Stone Designs really played perfectly into the soft palette.

Speaking of bouquets...this FABULOUS one was the piece de resistance. Hannah wanted a cascade and she got one of the most beautiful ones I have ever seen in person. I love those orchids hanging off the bottom!

Look at this face!

When your church is this beautiful, you don't event need that much floral!

Stunning, right?

Could these two be any more beautiful?

They look like a cake topper!

I adored her Veronica Lake-inspired hair.

When the guests arrived at the Clark Opera Center, they were greeted by these beautiful drapes, which I used to soften up those modern red doors. And to set the stage for the feel of the event. In the lobby, we had several cocktail tables, covered in a plum linen. Here's a quick tip. We used the flower arrangements from the rehearsal dinner on the small tables at the wedding reception! It saves money on your budget and flowers don't go to waste!

For our favor and going away toss table, I used another of the silver linens and added some gold sequins to the top. Then, I displayed it all in front of this existing sculpture in the venue. The favors were Memphis dry rub, which I tied with a personalized favor tag that said "Thanks for shaking it up with us!" The toss confetti was from The Flair Exchange. Carmen created a custom color palette of bio-degradable confetti for our guests to toss at the end of the night.

Hannah and Michael offered their guests a signature drink. Hers was a Lilac 75 and his was a Crown and Coke. The custom menu was displayed in a simple frame!

Inside the ballroom, I used a lot of purple uplighting to lend the room a romantic feel.
The linens are a textured gold and silver pattern that lent visual interest. Our centerpieces were varied. We had several with large displays which were elevated on mercury glass lanterns, and several small displays of florals. Some tables only had candles to give a real glow to the room. Deedra made these just look beautiful!

Since the Clark Opera Center is a room with very high ceilings, we wanted to create a big moment for the cake. I did that by having White Door Events build me a square draped canopy for the cake. We hung chandeliers in the top to create a "room" for the cake.

Our groom had his own lounge area, which was themed for him. He loves the University of Memphis and the Tigers, so I created him a huge 8-feet long M themed donut wall with blue Gibson's donuts.
In front, his groom cake was displayed for the guests. Since he is a fireman, the cake is a fire hose!

No Memphis wedding is complete without BBQ! Simply Delicious created a beautiful menu for us including BBQ Nachos, Sliders, and so much more!

Both cakes are from the incredibly talented Laura at The Flour Garden.

When Hannah and Michael arrived, it was time to party!
These guests and this family had SUCH a great time! They really know how to have fun!
We even had a "fire emergency" which called all the firemen to the front, only to have Fireball Whiskey shots passed out!

One of my favorite things to do at my events is to really personalize them! Because Michael is a huge Tigers fan, his mom and I worked out a surprise where we had Pouncer, the Tigers mascot come and surprise everyone, waving pom poms and blaring the fight song. He loved it and the guests loved getting to do some selfies with Pouncer!

Later on, there were pizzas delivered and it was time to really dance!

These two were just a dream to work with (and their family!).
Happy 1 year anniversary Hannah and Michael!
