{My Parties} Red Carpet Hollywood Party

What little girl doesn’t love to get glammed up and throw on a boa and act like a celebrity now and then? A Red Carpet Hollywood party is such a fun theme for girls of any age. I have always loved to watch the red carpet, even as a little girl. So, I would have loved to have had a red carpet themed party as a child! I did this theme a few years ago with some other fun items from Shindigz. You can check that out here.

To make your little one really feel like a celebrity, set up your own red carpet and step-and-repeat right at your own home! To create mine, I used the VIP backdrop and simply taped it right to the wall with some scotch tape. It’s easily removable and because it’s made of vinyl, it sticks really well to the wall just using static cling. To create that movie premiere feeling, I personalized this Hollywood Marquee sign standee to say “Happy Birthday Maddie” as if our party guests were attending their very own movie.  Then, on either side, we had to have some super star and popcorn balloons.  No red carpet is complete without the paparazzi! This giant paparazzi standee is SO fun and the kids loved it. The best part is that it comes with a sound box that makes the camera clicks and flash noises to really get those imaginations going! And we had to keep those pesky paparazzi at bay with our red rope and stanchions. We also used this area for our photo booth!

Kids love really being immersed in a theme (I do too!). To create their very own fancy premiere or awards night table, use a simple red polyester table cloth, and then add some sparkle with a gold sequin tablecloth down the middle. These stretchy chair covers are one of my favorite party supplies. They go over any folding chair since they stretch and they really make your party look put together. Add a simple red stretch band to the back to tie in the theme.  To create a tall centerpiece, I used two red cake plates stacked up with a movie camera metal centerpiece. This centerpiece has a place for a votive candle to be inserted, if your party is in the evening. I picked up some simple red iced cupcakes at my local grocery store and gave them extra shimmer with some gold and silver Candyfetti. On the top layer, these Awards Night Mints were the perfect addition. And every movie star needs fresh breath!

Each place setting had personalized Walk of Fame plates and cups. I used gold chargers to really make the place settings fancy for the kids. Popcorn is a must for a movie premiere, so each place setting had their own personal popcorn container! These are plastic versions, so they also make great favors for the kids to take home! And speaking of favors, I love these personalized chocolate lollipops. The kids loved them too!

When the cupcakes and popcorn were all gone, it was time to pose in front of our step and and repeat for some photo booth fun! As you can tell, the kids loved being able to pretend they were celebrities and red carpet reporters. They felt very fancy with all their fun props like feather boas, sunglasses, clap board, light box, microphones, and VIP passes!  Make your child the star of their very own show!

  1. We flew home to book this venue in June last year. Absolutely loved Chicago event venues here and I'll be certainly waiting to go back there for more events. Regardless of the time of your event, you always get the same thing: reasonable drink prices, great decoration, & friendly staff.
