{My Parties} When I Dip, You Dip, We Dip Cheese Dip Party

Have you ever had a party theme that was hard to buy for because the products just don’t exist? I love a unique party theme and today I am going to show you how to create your OWN party theme! My oldest son just turned 10 and his very favorite thing in the world is cheese dip! Is there anyone who doesn’t love cheese dip? If you don’t, then we can’t be friends!

I didn’t want to do a typical fiesta theme for his party, because I’ve done that theme a million times. So, I decided to create my own party theme. Having unique themes for my boys is something that I pride myself on. It gets harder when boys get older to give them parties that aren’t too juvenile or cute. A lot of my clients struggle with creating fun birthdays for their boys when they grow older.  I wanted something graphic and bold and boyish. So, I decided that a bold striped theme based upon an old hip hop song from 1996 was a funny idea to create a party around. Do you that song “Da Dip?” “When I dip, you dip, we dip?”  It’s one of those songs that gets stuck in your head!

You can customize so many cool party products. You can add colors, patterns, text, graphics, and even photos! I started my personalization by choosing my color scheme of black, white, and Kelly green, with some silver and metal tones thrown in for texture. Once I had my color scheme in mind, it was SO easy to create all my own party products based on that.

I love this product because the possibilities are endless! I used a simple black table cloth to start and then added a black and white striped poly table cloth over the top for texture. For my backdrop, I created a fun, fringed look using green float tissue fringe pinned right into my foam backdrop. Then, I created my own personalized banner using the song lyrics. On the front of my tablecloth, I pinned the personalized banner I created.

In addition to personalizing the decorations, I also personalized all the party ware! I even put Grey’s picture on the plates and cups!

No cheese dip themed party is complete without cheese dip. So, I served ours in a fountain! How fun is that? In order to let guests make their own nachos, I purchased nacho trays from a restaurant supply store and personalized them with stickers that matched our theme. On either side of the table, I added balloons of varying sizes and colors and tied each of them with balloon tassels in our colors.

I even had my favorite bakery, Smallcakes Collierville make me a super fun coordinating cake!

I hope this helps you create your very own fully personalized party!
