{My Parties} Cupcake Wars Party

You all know that I love a unique theme. And I love getting to do themes that I have not previously done. And I really love when my honoree wants to do purple!

This cute little sleepover has such a fun theme!
Purple, turquoise, black, and CUPCAKE WARS!
Miss Sara told me very bluntly that she was not into pink (my kinda girl), so I went with a scheme that highlighted HER favorites.

I set up the main party table so that the girls would see it as soon as they entered the house. That would get them excited about their activities for the night.
My backdrop is a sequin curtain stand from Shindigz. I hung balloon letters from the backdrop, spelling out Cupcake Wars. And since they don't come in colors, I just spray painted them!
The oversized cardboard cupcake was just the perfect addition to the table.

In order to bring some texture, I also incorporated stripes and polka dots in the designs. Each girl got a cupcake box from Michaels to take home their creations and they had cute polka dot designs. I personalized stickers at Shindigz to add to the top of the boxes.

For the cake, we went with a fun purple ombre design from Smallcakes Collierville and I created a custom cupcake topper using my Cricut. And striped candles of course!

Our cookies were designed and created by Sugaroo Sweets. I LOVE how modern and fun they are!

Since the girls were going to likely get messy, I created them their very own personalized aprons. I used heat pressed vinyl to add to aprons that I got at Hobby Lobby. Such an easy, but memorable party favor!

When the party got started, we had two 6 feet long tables which we pushed together for the girls to be able to decorate the cupcakes. And most importantly, we I used plastic tablecloths so that we could just roll up everything and toss it in the garbage after!

Each girl had their own plastic tray to decorate on and Smallcakes made me several pre-filled piping bags with colors for them to be able pipe the icing with less mess!

We had 4 different cupcake flavors for the girls to choose from; strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, and Oreo. All the icings were vanilla, but just colored.

I also picked up a bunch of fun toppers and sugar art from a local cake supply store, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels. We had three rounds; Freestyle, Holiday, and Most Creative.

The judges were parents, grandparents, and brothers. They were given scorecards on which to rate the cupcakes in 4 categories; taste, texture, presentation, and creativity.
If you want a copy of my scorecard, just email me!

Happy 10th Birthday Sara!!
